Movement ballet theatre
Director, Rebecca Mala
Welcome to Movement Ballet Theatre Classes! My name is Rebecca Mala and I am the Director of our ballet program. Along with me, dancers will be taught by Ashley Ennis. Ashley has a fantastic resume and approach to teaching and we are so happy to have her.
Our ballet program is a level ballet program which allows each dancer to improve at a proper pace. Our classes are based on ability rather than grouped by age. We do not teach a specific school of technique such as Vaganova, Cecchetti, or Balanchine. I was taught all different schools of technique and feel that a blend of all is best for our dancers. All information regarding our classes, policies and dress code can be found online on our website (look under Movement Ballet Theatre).
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please email or speak with the front desk and they can help you!! Thank you for your support of our ballet program and we can't wait to watch your dancer shine this year!
The Movement Dance Studio
Welcome to the Movement Ballet Theatre! Our mission for this program is to promote and enhance ballet in Northwest Arkansas by providing quality instruction. We want our dancers to experience the art of ballet and understand the benefits the art of ballet can bring to their lives. We believe ballet can enrich the lives of the students and the community greatly and can inspire and motivate our dancers to be stronger and more versatile performers.
MBT participates in the annual Winter Show in December and Spring Recital in June. Each class will perform one number and a select few may perform solos as well. Depending on the level of technique and the number of dancers, the Director may also ask a select few from Ballet 2 and 3 to perform a group piece at local competitions. Certain levels of MBT will also perform at local events to help build dancers confidence and enrich the community with the art of ballet.
*A placement class is required for all new students to MBT. The director will place dancers where she feels the dancer will progress and be able to improve the best.
